Tribal Facilities and Land Maintenance

Tribal member Sheldon Chase coordinates this program, with the assistance from Tribal members John Garrett and Dustin Beauvais. This three-person team performs all the duties for keeping the government buildings maintenance in order. Mowing, landscaping, beautification, cleaning, moving, minor repairs, painting, fire extinguisher checks, window cleaning, carpet cleaning, and a number of other duties as assigned. This crew is an integral part of every Tribal function. This crew provides set up and takes down of every event. They do a lot of behind the scene work, care for the vehicles, and look after day-to-day maintenance and clean-up of tribal government.
Recent and pending projects:
- Middle Creek property; Dustin Beauvais and Steve Rossback worked on this property extensively this winter and into the spring. The Guest house is substantially complete. The laundry room was completely gutted and rebuilt. The majority of the dry rot work was completed, new lighting and cadet heaters were installed, and a small amount of finish work is still on the schedule. The main house had extensive termite damage. The mudroom, laundry area, kitchen and bathroom were completely gutted and re-built. The electrical wiring in this home was deemed unsafe and the circuit panel and a majority of wiring issues were addressed by an electrical contractor. The water system and plumbing to the entire property still needs to be upgraded.
- A Tribal smokehouse was scheduled for construction but has been temporarily postponed. It is planned for construction near the plankhouse.
